 Cisco PIX vulnerabilities

Cisco has issued an advisory regarding two vulnerabilities in Cisco PIX.
It is possible for an attacker to hijack a VPN connection if he can succesfully spoof a victims IP address and knows the peer authentication key and a Cisco PIX may crash and reload because of a buffer overflow when handling HTTP traffic for TACACS+ or RADIUS authentication.

 Kaspersky Labs reports an attempt to hack its Web server

Kaspersky Labs informs users that on the night the 7 November there was a massive attack against the company's Web server.
The attack resulted in a group of hackers sending the subscribers of the Kaspersky Labs e-mail newsletter a message containing the recently discovered "Bridex" worm.

 Verisign moves DNS root servers

Key Internet Domain Name System (DNS) servers have been relocated to improve Internet security and stability in the wake of a recent, serious distributed denial of service attack.
Verisign, which manages two root DNS servers, moved one to a different locations, connected to different parts of its network earlier this week.

 Attack On Internet Called Largest Ever

Around 5:00 p.m. EDT on Monday, a "distributed denial of service" (DDOS) attack struck the 13 "root servers" that provide the primary roadmap for almost all Internet communications. Despite the scale of the attack, which lasted about an hour, Internet users worldwide were largely unaffected, experts said.
FBI officials would not speculate on who might have planned or carried out the attack.
